Bubbles of fun...NOT!

This little card was made for my niece for her birthday.

I followed a sketch from Raq's challenge over on the Cricut MB.

The cute girl is the Wizardette digi stamp from Tiddly Inks but I changed her a bit - something I love about digis, if they don't quite suit your needs you can alter them.  In this case, I swapped her wand for a bubble blower and the "magic" dust for bubbles.

I cut the large bubbles using my Cricut to get nice even circles and used Liquid Glass to make them shine, I also added this to Wizardette's hair and bubbles.  I couldn't find a blue ribbon with bubbles on it so had to settle for this pink one that I picked up at the $2 shop.  The blue spotty background paper is from the Dotty collection from CTMH.

The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up but I stuffed up when I stamped it and the 'Birthday' ended up upside down!  So I stamped another one on some white card and stuck it on with a 3D Zot and Liquid Glassed it to make it look like I wanted it to be a "button".  That is after I inked the edges and ran over a bit!

Not content with that mistake I then decided to scan the card and thought the Liquid Glass was dry but oh no, it wasn't!  The smallest bubble and the "Birthday" button got stuck to the glass plate of the scanner.  At this point I was about ready to throw the whole card away but I couldn't as I was leaving in the morning off to visit my "second" family and needed to take the card with me.  I discovered that a second coat of Liquid Glass hid the mess so left the card to dry until the morning.

Unfortunately the mistakes on this card weren't done yet and in the morning when I picked up the card to scan it in I managed to crack the finish on the small bubble!  There's also a nail imprint in one of the bubbles Wizardette is holding courtesy of me being too impatient wanting to cut her out.

But despite all the issues with this card I do like how it turned out and my niece liked it, which is all that really matters.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. It's adorable Elizabeth! I love all the shine and dimension. Only you will see those boobs, I love the way you colored her.
